ABOUT THE SECTION

Objectives: Promote the quality of resident training and provide a communication network for Canadian pathology residents.
- Represent pathology residents as a unified voice to the CAP Executive
- Stimulate ongoing resident membership and participation in the CAP
- To act as a communications network for Canadian pathology residents and exchange information with similar associations
- Participate in the Annual Meeting by organizing Residents’ Symposium and Dinner, providing monitors for CAP workshops and encouraging residents’ presentations in the scientific program
Members: Members of the Canadian Association of Pathologists currently in Canadian pathology residency teaching programs are eligible for membership in the Section. Section members have full voting privileges in the CAP Council.
Activities:
- Section Annual Meeting (at the CAP Annual Meeting)
All pathology residents -- whether members of the Section members or not -- are invited to attend. The program starts with a business meeting, followed by a presentation by an invited speaker at the symposium and concludes with a dinner in an informal setting. The Chair of the Resident Section is selected from the city where the upcoming CAP Annual Meeting is to be held.
