JOB OPPORTUNITY
ANATOMIC PATHOLOGIST
FULL-TIME STAFF POSITION
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
and Calgary Laboratory Services (CLS) invite applications for a
full-time Pathologist position. Preference will be given to
applicants with subspecialty training and/or expertise in
Gastrointestinal Pathology; however, all qualified Pathologists are
invited to apply.
CLS is a multi-site, regionalized laboratory
providing comprehensive laboratory services to the Calgary Health
Region. CLS processes 110,000 surgical specimens, 250,000
gynecologic cytology specimens, and 10,000 non-gynecologic cytology
specimens annually. There has been rapid expansion of regional
Gastroenterology clinical services, including initiation of a
colonoscopy screening program. The Department of Pathology &
Laboratory Medicine is part of the rapidly growing Faculty of
Medicine and significant opportunities exist for participation in
teaching and research. Calgary is a vibrant, multicultural city near
the Rocky Mountains, Banff National Park and Lake Louise.
Remuneration packages are very competitive and the
Province of Alberta has the lowest taxes in Canada. Qualifications
include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta,
and certification in General Pathology or Anatomic Pathology. In
accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be
given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
