JUNIOR SCIENTIST AWARD

An annual award is offered by the Canadian Association
of Pathologists (CAP) and sponsored in part by Randox Laboratories for
meritorious scientific work, experimental or non experimental, in the
field of Pathology. A committee of the CAP will judge all submissions.
Applications should be received, no later than
February 28, 2008 by the Chair of the Selection Committee, Junior
Scientist Award, at the address of the selected Committee Chair:

Applicants should be under 40 years of age in the year
the application is made and be an Ordinary, Junior or Associate member
in the Canadian Association of Pathologists.
The scientific work may be submitted in English or
French and may be in the form of either: (a) a paper or papers already
published or accepted for publication; or (b) a thesis accepted by a
Faculty of Medicine or Graduate Studies.
In the case of joint authorship, the work should be
predominantly that of the applicant. A letter from the Chief or Chair of
the applicant’s Department confirming this should accompany the
application.
The applicant’s curriculum vitae should be submitted
with the application. By March 14, 2008 the successful applicant
will be invited to present a 30 minute paper on their work as part of
the Scientific Program of the Annual Meeting of the Association, to be
held in Ottawa, ON, July 12-16, 2008
. The CAP will defray the
expenses of the successful applicant, according to CAP guidelines, to
attend the meeting and will give an honorarium at the time of the
presentation.

SCIENTIFIQUE JUNIOR
L’Association canadienne des pathologistes (ACP) en
collaboration avec les Laboratoires Randox, désire recevoir des mises en
candidature pour le prix d’excellence destiné à reconnaître les travaux
scientifiques d’ordre expérimental ou non expérimental dans le domaine
de la pathologie. Un comité de sélection de l’ACP se chargera de revoir
toutes les soumissions.
Vous devez faire parvenir votre demande à l’attention
du Président du Comité de sélection pour le prix de chercheur
scientifique, au plus tard le 28 février 2008, à l’adresse

Le candidat doit être âgé de moins de 40 ans durant
l’année de la soumission de sa candidature et il doit être membre
régulier, junior ou associé de l’Association canadienne des
pathologistes.
L’ouvrage scientifique peut être soumis en anglais ou
en français sous forme d’oeuvre déjà publiée ou en voie de publication,
ou d’une thèse acceptée par une faculté de médecine ou d’études
supérieures.
Le cas échéant d’un ouvrage préparé par deux auteurs,
il est essentiel que l’ouvrage du candidat soit le plus important parmi
les deux. Ceci doit être confirmé dans une lettre provenant du chef ou
du président du département du candidat.
La demande du candidat doit comprendre une copie de
son curriculum vitæ.
On fera parvenir une invitation à l’heureux candidat
d’ici le 14 mars 2008, pour lui demander de faire une présentation
de 30 minutes sur son ouvrage au cours du Programme scientifique de
l’assemblée annuelle de l‘association devant avoir lieu à Ottawa
(Ontario) les 12 au 16 juillet 2008. Les frais encourus par l’heureux
candidat, afin de participer à cette réunion, seront assumés par l’ACP
qui lui remettra également un prix en argent au moment de sa
présentation.
