 Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community-based academic health network in Ontario, serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto.  The hospital, which offers a full range of hospital and community-based services, encompasses three sites – Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital (MH), and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) – and recognizes the importance of diverse perspectives, experience, and expertise in delivering healthcare services to our community.

We seek a gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathologist and a genitourinary pathologist to join a dedicated healthcare team in a progressive organization, including 21 pathologists, 2 transfusion medicine specialists, 2 microbiologists, 2 biochemists, 2 cytogenomicists, and 4 medical geneticists.  We provide specialized laboratory services to ten clinical programs and the Regional Cancer Centre. The Program houses an immunohistochemistry laboratory, state of the art flow cytometry facilities, and the regional Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics Program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will function primarily as a gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary or genitourinary pathologist and provide service to a secondary site group (breast, lung, head and neck, etc.) as well as participate in our general pool of surgical pathology, including intra-operative consultations, autopsies, and on-call services.  The successful candidate will participate fully in our quality management program and multidisciplinary cancer conferences.  The position is based out of CVH (2200 Eglinton Avenue West, Mississauga) with rotational coverage at MH (100 Queensway West, Mississauga) and QHC (150 Sherway Drive, Toronto).

The successful candidate will participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees.  Opportunity exists to participate in clinical and applied research thorough an academic appointment with the University of Toronto.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Uniform Minimal Level of Compensation (UMLC) for the province of Ontario.

Required Qualifications:

We are seeking two (2) full-time pathologists with training in anatomical pathology certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent), including one with fellowship training in gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology and one with fellowship training in genitourinary pathology.  Special interest or additional fellowship training in other subspecialty areas would be an asset (e.g. breast, lung, head and neck, etc.).  Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in an inter-professional care model are essential.  The candidate should have a demonstrable record in medical education, educational scholarship, and/or research.  The successful candidate must possess (or be eligible for) a practice license in anatomical pathology without supervision by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
