The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), Moose Jaw, invites applications for Laboratory Physicians with training, expertise and/or experience in General Pathology; particularly Anatomical Pathology; to express their interest in joining our Department of Laboratory Medicine.

The successful candidate(s) will join our team to provide General Pathology services to the patients of southwest Saskatchewan, based out of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK, Canada.

The General Pathologist, under the direction of the Department Lead for Laboratory Medicine, is responsible of the provision of high quality patient care by timely and accurate reporting of pathology results. Duties include examination of surgical specimens, examination of cytological preparations, performance and evaluation of autopsies and the interpretation of these and other laboratory tests to provide diagnostic information to physicians and health care practitioners.

The incumbent retains autonomy in the purely professional aspect of the position while following departmental guidelines in procedural matters and must comply with the respective Quality Assurance programs while performing surgical pathology and cytology pathology. The incumbent may provide functional guidance to medical laboratory technologists, laboratory assistants, support staff and other departments on matters pertaining to pathology service.

The successful candidate will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General/Anatomical Pathology. 


Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS)


Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family-centered care.


In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
