Academic Anatomical Pathologist
Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program and McMaster University

Applications are invited for a full-time Anatomical Pathologist position in the Hamilton Regional
Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), with an academic appointment at an appropriate rank in the
Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.

The HRLMP encompasses four acute care hospital sites and includes pathology laboratories at Hamilton
Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare. McMaster University plays an integral role in the
educational life of Hamilton, providing a stimulating academic environment with unique opportunities for
clinical and basic research. The successful candidate will be expected to have teaching responsibilities in
undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate programs. The successful incumbent will also actively
participate in collaborative research as appropriate. The division of Anatomical Pathology employs more
than 32 full-time pathologists in all subspecialties, handles close to 50,000 surgical specimens per annum, and provides pathology consultation services to the Juravinski Regional Cancer Centre and surrounding communities.

Preference will be given to candidates with established specialized pathology skills through practice
experience or fellowship training and proven academic activity. Current opportunities include all surgical
pathology subspecialties, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise or interest in breast and gynecological pathology. Applicants must be permanent residents of Canada, hold a Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Anatomical or General Pathology, and be eligible for
medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.
